Shibaura Institute of Technology (SIT) has been issuing various certificates of study through an on-campus issuing machine (Papyrus Mate). From this October 2021, we will start issuing some types of the certificates digitally to the current students.

The digitization of academic achievement certificates at higher education institutions has become essential for promoting the acquisition of highly-skilled overseas human resources and international students in the global society.

  1. Method of use
    Access to the off-campus service for certificate issuing (https://conveni.shibaura-it.ac.jp/Student/en-US) and click on the “Digital certification application”.

    After that, access to DIGITARY CORE platform. The guide to register as a user for this service is below.

  2. Method to share the digital certificates with other organizations such as corporations.
    If you would like to share your digital certificate with other organizations, such as corporations, you can share access to your digital certificate on DIGITARY CORE via e-mail or etc. For more information on this, please refer to the following link.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q1. How can I be sure that my digital certificate is recognized by the university?
A1. With DIGITARY CORE, students and alumni cannot upload or modify their certificates. It will be only the university that can manage the certificates, therefore the authenticity of the certificates
are guaranteed.

Online : SIT Students or alumni can provide URLs to companies and others to access their official certificates through DIGITARY CORE.
PDF file : When viewing certificate data on DIGITARY CORE with Adobe Acrobat Reader, a blue ribbon at the top of the file will appear as [... All signatures are valid ] . Tampered or modified documents will show an X sign in red colour and an error message in the blue ribbon.

Printed Certificates: Digital certificates are only guaranteed when viewed online using Adobe Acrobat Reader. The authenticity of printed documents cannot be verified unless the authenticated certificates are issued directly by the university through Papyrus Mate machine.

Q2: Can Papyrus Mate continue to issue the paper version of certificates?
A2. We will continue to issue the paper version of certificates as before.

Q3. What if I need to send a certificate to an institution or organization that does not accept digital certificates?
A3. You can send a paper certificate issued by Papyrus Mate.

Q4: I was asked by a company to submit a certificate on paper. Can I print out a PDF of the digital certificate and submit it instead of the one issued by Papyrus Mate?
A4. A printed PDF of a digital certificate is not considered as an official document. Please submit a paper certificate issued by Papyrus Mate.

Q5. Will there be a fee for registering or issuing a digital certificate?
A5. For the time being, there is no usage fee.

Q6: I was asked to submit a certificate in PDF format by a company. I used to submit a scanned copy of the certificate issued by Papyrus Mate, but can I submit a PDF file of the digital certificate this time?
A6. If the institution requires you to submit the certificate in PDF format, you can submit the PDF file of your digital certificate.
