eduroam wireless LAN

This University was joined eduroam JP   that is promoted by National Institute of Informatics(NII)  from Nov. 2011.

From this, target users can use eduroam  service (world-wide roaming access service for educational and research institute) at in/out side the University.

 

Target persons All students, faculties and staff, the User who belongs to eduroam participating organization and already has an account for eduroam

What is eduroam?

eduroam is academic wireless LAN roaming access service developed by GEANT Association Europe (Formerly known asTERENA).

It is de facto standard on campus wireless LAN at 101 countries and regions.

 

Major features of eduroam

  • No charge for use Wireless LAN in participating institutions access point area (including this University campus)
  • Able to use access points of overseas participating institutions
  • Able to use your own ID at off campus and overseas.
  • High security communication contents and user authentication
  • Able to use various devices

Style of account

The template of the eduroam account used for setting is as follows.

  • Our university users

  "Science Information Center account name" @shibaura-it.ac.jp

  • Other users

  Account for eduroam that issued by your belonging organized
