2022/03/10 For those who will graduate or complete in the fiscal year 2021 (March 2022) (regarding use of accounts, services, etc.)

Dear Graduates and Graduates of the Class of 2021

This email is to inform you that all services provided by the Center for Science Information, with the exception of Gmail, will be unavailable as of the due date. The date of suspension and a confirmation at the end of the letter. Please be sure to read it.

Annual system-related updates are scheduled for the following dates.

  • Graduate Students : Tuesday, March 22, 2022, starting in the morning
  • Undergraduate Students : Friday, March 25, 2021, starting in the morning

As a result of this annual renewal, the Center for Science Information accounts will be suspended, and the services provided by the Center for Science Information will no longer be available to graduates of the class of 2021. (except Gmail).

The main services that will no longer be available are as follows.

  • Services that use campus passwords
    • Login to computers in each PC classroom
    • Access to MyVolume and download servers
    • Login to web services such as Scomb, S*gsot, AMI, etc.
    • VPN services such as GlobalProtect
    • Sophos
    • Login to various remote servers
    • Viewing class videos (Mediasite) etc.
  • Services using student ID cards
    • Unlocking of electric locks on each campus (including Ninjalock and Akerun)
    • Use of certificate-issuing machines
    • Use of multifunctional machines and copy machines that can be used by holding up student ID cards etc.
  • Cloud Services
    • Use of Adobe software
    • Zoom
    • All Microsoft365 services (Office365Proplus, teams, Stream, etc.)
    • Google Workspace for Education excluding Gmail (Drive will stop at the end of June) etc.

*The same applies to undergraduate students who plan to enter graduate school.

  • My Volume
    Dates stored in My Volume will be deleted after account suspension. Please back up all necessary data by the day before your annual renewal. Access to and extraction of data, etc. will not be allowed after account suspension.
  • Softwere
    Please make sure to uninstall any software you are using.
  • Google Workspace for Education
    Dates stored in My Volume will be deleted after account suspension. Please back up all necessary data by the day before your annual renewal. Access to and extraction of data, etc. will not be allowed after account suspension.
  • Google Workspace for Education
    After July 2022, due to a change in Google's storage policy, we will place a capacity limit on storage usage (including files shared between Drive, Gmail, and Photos). As a result, the only Google services available after graduation will be Gmail (Drive will be available until the end of June 2022). In light of this, please back up your data to your personal account and delete unnecessary files from Drive, Gmail, and Photos. If you wish to continue using Gmail, we also recommend that you set up an email address and phone number to reset your account.
  • Users registered on personal computers
    If you are using a SIC's Micorosoft account (xxxxxx@sic.shibaura-it.ac.jp) to log in to your personal computer, this your account will be suspended and you will no longer be able to log in. Also, if you only have a SIC's Microsoft account, you will have no way to log into your PC and will be forced to initialize it. Please be sure to change your account or add an account.
