Enactment

(Effect)

Article 1 This regulation specifies the necessary items for the smooth use of the Shibaura Institute of Technology network(Hereinafter referred to as "SITNET".), which is the foundation for supporting the education and research of the Shibaura Institute of Technology, and the construction of a safe network.

(purpose of use)

Article 2 Use of SITNET is basically for academic research and education.However, management and administration of educational institutions and use to contribute to the welfare of students, faculty and staff can be permitted.

(Management / operation)

Article 3 Establishing Shibaura Institute of Technology Network Committee(Hereinafter referred to as "committee".) for the management and operation of SITNET.

2 The committee consists of the following persons.

(1) Chairperson, Center for Science Information Director

(2) Committee member, One person appointed by the director

 

(3) Committee member, 1 person recommended by the president

(4) Committee member, Member 1 person recommended by the Dean of Graduate School of Science and Engineering

(5) Committee member, 1 person each recommended by the dean of the committee

(6) Committee member, 1 person recommended by the principal of the junior high school and senior high school attached to the committee

(7) Committee member, One member recommended by the principal of Kashiwa Junior and Senior High School

(8) Committee member, 1 person recommended by the Executive Secretary

(9) Committee member, 1 person recommended by the director of Center for Science Information

(10) Committee member, Committee Information System Manager

Article 4 The committee is responsible for managing and operating SITNET and connecting SITNET to the Internet, both inside and outside the university.

2 It is possible to take the necessary measures to smoothly manage and operate SITNET and connect SITNET to the Internet smoothly. However, the technical requirements for management and operation will be separately specified.

(Department network)

Article 5 Those who set up a department network in SITNET and intend to manage and operate it voluntarily must apply to the committee and obtain permission.

(Department network connection organization)

Article 6 The department networks that can be connected to SITNET are as follows.

(1) Graduate School

(2) College faculties, departments, and departments

(3) University institutions

(4) Both Junior High School and High School

(5) Management department

(6) Other organizations approved by the committee

 

(Installer of department network)

Article 7 The following persons are allowed to set up the department network.

(1) School principal

(2) Dean of the Graduate School

(3) Dean

(4) Head of institution

(5) Faculty/Department Chief

(6) Department chief

(7) Full-time teacher

(8) Secretary General

(9) Person responsible for the organization recognized in Article 6, Paragraph 1, Item 6

(Responsibility for department network operation)

Article 8 Department network installers are responsible for managing and operating the following matters.

(1) Security management within the department network

(2) User education within the department network

(3) Training system administrators within department networks

(4) Dealing with faults within the department network

(5) Make an effort not to intentionally cause operational obstacles or inconveniences from the controlled department network inside or outside the university.

(6) Manage the department network that is managed so that posting, reference, and distribution of content that is not appropriate as an educational institution will not be performed.

(7) It is obligatory to promptly report to the committee when a failure or misconduct is discovered.

(8) Other matters concerning management and operation of the department network

(Responsibility for SITNET)

Article 9 The responsibility for all problems and security issues inside and outside the university caused by the operation of the department network lies with the installer of the department network.

(Stop connection)

Article 10: If all the obstacles caused by the operation of the department network and security problems inside and outside the university occur or are likely to occur, the chairperson investigates this and connects the SITNET and the department network. Can be stopped.

(Department network installation period)

Article 11 As a general rule, the period for setting up the department network according to Article 7, Paragraph 1, Item 7 shall be during the term of office.

(Revocation of installation permission)

Article 12 If it is found that the management and operation of the department network is not performed properly, the committee may revoke the permission to install the department network.

(Abolition)

Article 13 The amendment and abolition of this regulation shall be conducted by the Board of Directors after deliberation by the Committee and discussion of the Dean/Graduate Dean Meeting.

These regulations will come into effect on April 1, 2000.

2 The Article 3-2(11) committee authorizes the deputy director to act on his behalf.

With the abolition of the university council (March 31, 2018), the university council in the text of this regulation will be changed to the dean/graduate school dean meeting on the same date.
