Enactment

(Definition)

Article 1 Shibaura Institute of Technology Center for Science Information Network (hereinafter referred to as "SICNET") is a department network established based on Article 6, Paragraph 1, Item 3 of Shibaura Institute of Technology Network Regulations.

(Effect)

Article 2 Based on the Shibaura Institute of Technology Network Regulations, this regulation defines necessary items for the smooth operation and security measures of the Shibaura Institute of Technology Center for Science Information Network (hereinafter referred to as "SICNET").

(purpose of use)

Article 3 Use of SICNET is basically limited to academic research and education.


(Management/operation)

Article 4 Management and operation of SICNET will be examined at the Center for Science Information Conference (hereinafter referred to as "Center Conference"), which is headed by the Director of Center for Science Information of Shibaura Institute of Technology (hereinafter referred to as "Center Director").The work related to this is handled by the Center for Science Information Administration Department.

(Scope of users)

Article 5 SICNET can be used as follows, and the center director issues a user identification code (hereinafter referred to as "ID") when using it.

(1) Faculty members of Shibaura Institute of Technology (including visiting professors, visiting researchers, part-time lecturers, specific staff, temporary staff)

(2) Graduate students and undergraduate students, students, research students, exchange students, course students, special auditors

(3) Others, after being approved by the center meeting, deemed appropriate by the center director.

2 Notwithstanding the preceding paragraph, as a general rule, users are not allowed to use during suspension of work or suspension of school.

3 The service range of the Center for Science Information that can be used by ID will be determined separately.

(Delete ID)

Article 6 When the user defined in Article 5, Paragraph 1, Item 1 and Item 2 loses his/her identity due to retirement, graduation, withdrawal, removal from membership, etc., he/she loses the right to use and the ID is deleted.For users who fall under No. 3, the ID will be deleted after the period when the usage is deemed necessary.

(Obligation to manage ID and password)

Article 7 Those who are authorized to use are required to strictly manage issued IDs and passwords.

(Return of ID)

Article 8 SICNET users can apply for suspension and deletion of their ID for any reason. The procedure will be specified separately.

(Prohibited matter)

Article 9 The following actions are prohibited when using SICNET.

(1) Use for purposes other than education and research

(2) Transfer or loan of ID to a third party

(3) Disclosure of password to third parties

(4) Infringement of rights stipulated by laws such as privacy and copyright

(5) Commercial activities

(6) Actions that hinder the operation of the network

(7) Act of misrepresenting others

(8) Unauthorized use of the system or acts to help it

(9) The act of modifying or destroying the programs and data of others.

(10) Acts that cause operational obstacles or annoyances both inside and outside the university

(11) Posting, referencing, distributing, and retaining content that is not appropriate for an educational institution that violates public order and morals.

(12) Other acts that violate laws and social practices

(Investigation and punishment)

Article 10 The Center Director may investigate the violation of the management obligations of Article 7 and the prohibited acts stipulated in Article 9 and suspend the use thereof for the purpose of the investigation.


2 As a result of the investigation in the preceding paragraph, if the violation of the management obligation of Article 7 and the prohibited act of Article 9 are found, the center director reports the contents of the act to the manager of the user concerned, and Can suspend the use of SICNET until the disposal is confirmed.

3 Disposal shall be in accordance with the Shibaura Institute of Technology Employment Regulations, Shibaura Institute of Technology Graduate School Rules and Shibaura Institute of Technology School Rules.

4 Regarding the investigation method, separate internal regulations will be established.

5 Responsibility for damages resulting from improper use shall rest with the user.

 

(Miscellaneous)

Article 11 If a matter not specified in these regulations occurs, it will be examined at the center meeting.

(Abolition)

Article 12 The amendment and abolition of this regulation will be conducted by the Board of Directors after the deliberation at the center meeting and the discussion of the faculty meeting, and at the suggestion of the president.

 

Supplementary rules

These regulations will come into effect on April 1, 2000.
