Anti-virus software

Since we consider that the security functions preinstalled on Windows and macOS has been enough improved, we terminate the contract of using "Sophos Anti-Virus" on July 31st, 2022.

We recommend using preinstalled security functions in the future. (Windows : Microsoft Defender, macOS : XProtect)
If you have installed "Sophos Anti-Virus", please uninstall it after August 2022. (Windows / MacOS)

Uninstall Guide

* Please uninstall it after August 2022.

*Defender
（WindowsOS）

Security function for mal-ware detection and removing. Standardly installed on Windows8 or later.

*Defender for Endpoint (P2)

The extend version of Microsoft Defender. Including remote control function for administrator, program execution logging, software version detecting which contains vulnerabilities.

Full-time faculty can install Defender for Endpoint P2 (Windows/Mac) for up to 5 devices.

*Xprotect
（MacOS）

Automatically detect mal-ware and prevent installing by regularly updating virus definition list.

*GateKeeper
（MacOS）

Regulate distribution sources of applications, configure security level to install.
 Notices
  • Support for Linux will be ended.
  • For Windows Server, Microsoft Defender is standardly installed on 2016 version or later.
  • If you have installed "Sophos Anti-Virus", please uninstall it after August 2022.
