Dear Students

This is an announcement from the Information Network Service Section.

Eating, drinking, and bringing in food and beverages are prohibited in all PC classrooms.
This is to protect the equipment, including the wiring under the floor, and to create an atmosphere where eating and drinking are not allowed in the PC classrooms.
This is true even during classes.

For the same reason, it is also prohibited to bring in wet umbrellas.
*Umbrella bags are available.

If the wiring under the floor gets short-circuited, it may affect not only that room but also other rooms where classes are being held.
We would appreciate your cooperation in preserving the equipment, and thank you in advance for your cooperation!

The PC rooms and lecture rooms on each campus will be open only in the rooms with classes in 2021 as in 2020.

When you go to school, please bring your PC with you if necessary.

New student must have a PC. Please prepare your PC that meets the specifications according to the instructions of your department by yourself.

In addition, the opening status may be reviewed after the class starts depending on the situation. However, even in that case, the capacity of the PC room is 1/2 to 2/3 of the usuall, so all rooms may be used for classes all day long depending on the day of the week. 

Please note that the opening time will be shorter than before the COVID-19, so we may not be able to provide sufficient time.

When you first start the Adobe CC 2020 product installed on the teacher's PC (Windows 10) managed by Center for Science Information, you will be asked to log in with your Adobe ID.

Now that you have renewed your Mathematica contract, you can request a new activation key. (2020/04/14)

The data migration work of the file server accompanying the annual update work will be implemented on March 20 (Friday / holiday).
Therefore, the use of holiday self-service on March 20 will be suspended and PCs will be closed in all available PC classrooms on holidays.

Also, the connection to MyVolume from SRAS or the laboratory may be unstable, so please do not access the data during the working day.

On February 15, the default boot OS for the PC room and the teacher's desk was changed to Windows 10, but at the same time, the specifications for EVE-MA authentication for logging in using an IC card were changed.
For this reason, many users are currently unable to log in using IC cards and fingerprints, or IC cards and passwords.

If you can no longer log in using your IC card,
You will need to change your Windows password.

As part of the new coronavirus infection countermeasures, the PC classroom opening hours at all school buildings and the support response time at the counter will be changed from March 13, 2020 (Friday). The end date of this response is undecided, but will be announced once the schedule is finalized.

Microsoft's support for Windows 7 ended on January 14, 2020.

In the PC classroom, we have been operating Windows 10 in parallel since October last year, but will change to Windows 10 only operation by 2020.

Details on OS changes are as follows.

• The PC classroom OS will be changed to Windows10 from February 15. (The general classroom lecture table is scheduled for February 17)
• The period until the end of March is the confirmation period for the software used in the next class and the investigation of defects in general behavior
• Install software that has been approved by the Academic Information Center as A / B / C classification software in principle.
  (The software may not be installed because it does not work on Windows 10 in our environment)

• Software versions available in 2020 may be updated at any time due to license / software updates in the next year
  In addition, the Windows7 installation media lent to the library and each subject room will be collected.

For installation of Windows10, please check Microsoft EES OS (campus network only) of site license software.

• About self-service opening
  Please check the following precautions carefully before use.

1. Each room is locked. You can unlock it by holding your student card over a card reader near the entrance door.
2. Do not leave the door open. To go outside, turn the thumb turn to unlock.
3. Please turn on / off the lighting by yourself.
4. There is no replenishment of paper to the multifunction device, troubleshooting of equipment, or handling of counters.
5. Please follow the rules for use of the training room (prohibition of bringing in food and drinks, prohibiting nuisance, etc.) as usual.
6. Do not leave the room after the opening hours, or move or take out chairs, eat or drink or smoke, etc. If such an activity is discovered, we will review the implementation of the self-service room.
7. Air conditioning stops from December 28 to January 6 in Toyosu. I hope you can use it in clothes that can regulate body temperature.

We will inform you about the opening schedule of the PC room during the Shibaura Festival.

Self service opening hours are from 9: 00-17: 00. There is no window correspondence or paper replenishment.
The I / O room can be used 24 hours a day. (Excluding Building 2)

With the expectation that Windows7 manufacturer support will end, Windows 10 will be added as a boot OS in the PC classroom environment from October 1st.

In order to avoid confusion due to sudden changes, the trial period of Windows 10 will be set for FY2019, and parallel operation will be performed by selecting the OS from the startup menu.

The details are as follows.

• When switching OS, reboot and select from boot menu
• Windows10 edition is Education
• For the trial period to the last, the software that can be put in Windows 10 is the minimum
• Only PC classrooms will be implemented, and only Windows 7 will be activated at general classrooms.

In preparation for the 2019 Omiya Festival, a large amount of fixtures will be brought into the hallway of the Omiya Building No. 2 PC classroom.
Due to the difficulty in ensuring safety during loading work and traffic after installation, the PC classroom at Omiya Building No. 2 will be closed during the following period.

• Period: May 18, 2019 (Saturday) All day (Omiya Festival preparation day)

On the day of the Omiya festival, it can be used as usual in the information processing classroom on the first floor of Building No. 5. (9: 00-17: 00)
