PC Room

There are more than 1,600 PCs in the PC rooms of SIC.
You can use these all rooms regardless your depatment except the room held classes.
All PCs in the PC room is connected in the campus network (SITNET).

Target persons All Students and Faculties
Qualification to use People who are allowed to "Terms of use networks of SIT Center for Science Information" Article 5. and  received your Account(Password notice), can use computers.

Open time

You can use all rooms between the time below except holding classes.

Omiya Campus   9:00 ~ 21:30 (Mon - Fri)
Toyosu Campus  9:00 ~ 22:00 (Mon - Sat)
Shibaura Campus 9:00 ~ 22:00 (Mon - Sat)

※ You can also use holidays if it is a class day.

Closed time 

It is closed every Sunday ,holiday.

※It may be close because of maintainance.
※Check the "News" on the top page of SIC website to know the open days in school holidays.

Overtime  & Holiday use

Some PC rooms are able to be used after closed time & on closed day.

Changing supplies

SIC provides Papers for printer (A4 & A3 size).
Please tell to staff in the PC rooms or SIC counter if you have any trouble like lack of paper,tonner, and ink.

※ You have to prepare by yourself for the papers for HP plotter and manual bypass print.
※ We do not change the supplies while overtime & Holiday use.  

Lost article

Items lost in or near the PC room can be temporarily stored in the nearest information system section.
Collected items will be moved to the Student Division on the same day or the next day. (Valuables will be moved to the Student Division immediately.)

Installed software

The software installed in the PC room has been approved by the center meeting after being judged necessary for the class. Refer to the following list file for software.

Rules

Read and understand the precautions carefully, and use the PC classroom comfortably.

 

Do not bring foods & drinks

We prohibite eating and drinking while using computers. We also prohibite bringing foods & drinks(like PET-bottles).

Use silently

These are the rooms to study. Do not talk loudly ,make big noise ,do any nuisance.

Do not leave with log on

If you leave with keep log-on, your account may be used illegally.It means that have big risks not only for you but also for all of PCs in the campus network through being used your account illegally. There is a punishment to neglect obligation of management of account & password.

Only use for studies

It is prohibited to perform acts contrary to the purpose of education and research, such as listing on auction sites and shopping sites, shopping, and accessing adult sites for dating sites using computers in the PC room or accounts issued by Center for Science Information.

Do not bring out / move devices

The equipment in the PC room is used in the installed state. Removal of unauthorized equipment is prohibited.

Do not bring wet umbrella

Many cables are routed under the floor of the PC room. In order to prevent accidents such as electric leakage and computer failure, it is prohibited to bring a wet umbrella indoors.

Do not power off the conputers 

The computer in the PC room is always on. Do not turn off the power switch even after use. (Maintenance is performed from midnight to early morning, and a program to delete unnecessary files is running.)

Do not install softwares

You cannot bring your own software and install it on a computer in your computer room.

Do not copy software illeagally

It is prohibited to copy the software installed on the equipment of the Center for Science Information
and take it home.

Do not holding seats

PC rooms are prohibited from taking seats. Since the number is limited, when you don't use it, give it to the next person you want to use. If it is judged as “Acquiring a seat”, Center for Science Information staff will “automatically log off”. * The data being created is not saved.

About floor space measures

Do not use the computer while seting up

Computers in the PC room are set up (preparing the contents) regularly and irregularly. Do not touch the computer you are working on.

Do not smoke

The university building is completely non-smoking. Smoking should be done in a designated place.

 

 

Student staff

 

In the PC training room, the student staff of Center for Science Information wearing white jumpers are present and traveling around. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have.
If there is no student staff, please come to the nearest information system section office.

* Staff will not be able to receive questions or consultations other than assignments and educational / research purposes. Please note.
* We recruit student part-time workers every January.
